Big changes from the International Coach Federation (ICF)
The good news is that you actually don’t need your double shot cappuccino for inspiration. There are a lot of big changes being broadcast and implemented by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Importantly, these will have a significant positive impact on our industry.

An updated accreditation structure will replace both ACTP and ACSTH. Level will be tied to ICF Credentialing pathways.
A new way of accrediting that accredits an entire organization rather than only a specific curriculum or program. Accrediting whole organizations is a leading global practice. What does it mean for Open Door clients and Alumni
You don’t really have to panic or worry about your credentials or qualifications. Open Door will be a Level 2 Organisation. We are moving straight away to the new structure. Importantly, working with the ICF on a transition plan.
Level 2 Accreditation (formerly ACTP) is for organizations that offer at least 125 contact learning hours, and it is designated as a pathway to the PCC credential.

If I do this course – what does it give me?
We expect it will resolve a lot of confusion in the market-place. About ‘what leads to what’. People are confused if I do X course, does that give me the hours for ACC credential or PCC credential. It will a lot easier to work out in the future and compare apples with apples. Importantly, you can find out this information about Open Door courses here.
International Coaching Federation (ICF) milestone: 30,000 credential-holders
In 1998, ICF’s credentialing program launched with 34 coach practitioners receiving the first-ever ICF Credentials. Today ICF Credential-holders number 30,000 around the world. Without a doubt this demonstrates coaches acknowledging the importance of high standards in coaching practice and the value of professional coaching in our world.
