Our mentor coaching program offers:
- Assessment in line with the ICF Core Competencies and Ethics: Ensure your coaching practices align with the ICF Core Competencies and Code of Ethics through mentorship guidance.

- Feedback and Coaching Skills Enhancement: Receive constructive feedback on your coaching sessions and enhance your coaching skills under the guidance of seasoned professional.
- Customised Support: Each mentoring session is tailored to your specific needs, ensuring effective progress towards renewal.
How our mentoring works
Mentoring is provided on your coaching demonstrations with a comprehensive feedback session that assesses your coaching against the ICF core competencies. You can purchase a 6-hour package of mentoring or a 10-hour package of mentoring.
Please note: it is an ICF requirement that mentoring occurs over three-month period or longer. For example, if the first session is 14 March, then the last session must be 14 June or after. So please leave enough time prior to your renewal to complete your mentoring.
By purchasing this service you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
Your 6-hour mentor coaching package compromises: listening to three (3) of your coaching recordings (between 30-40 minutes in length); assessment of your recording against the ICF Core Competencies; providing written feedback on your recording; and a 1-hour (in-person) verbal debrief on each recording.

Your 10-hour mentor coaching package compromises: listening to three (5) of your coaching recordings (between 30-40 minutes in length); assessment of your recording against the ICF Core Competencies; providing written feedback on your recording; and a 1-hour (in-person) verbal debrief on each recording.
- You need to provide the recording and a transcript of the recording to Open Door to enable an Open Door assessor to assess the recording.
- You need to tell Open Door whether the recording is to be assessed at ACC or PCC level.
- Once the assessment is made, you will be provided with a link to book a debrief/feedback session via Calendly. It is your responsibility to submit your recordings and make the bookings.
- It is an ICF requirement that your mentor coaching sessions occur over three-month period or longer. For example, if the first session is 14 March, then the last session must be 14 June or after.
- Open Door is not responsible for the timings of your mentor coaching program or your ICF renewal. It is your responsibility to make sure this timing is right for your purposes, and that you give yourself enough time prior to your renewal for your mentor coaching to be completed.
- It is your responsibility to check the ICF requirements for mentor coaching for your credential level and specific needs. Information on our website is provided as a guide.
- If you are submitting a recording and transcript as part of the ICF Portfolio pathway and your ICF Performance Evaluation, Open Door cannot guarantee that by undertaking our mentor coaching program that you will pass the ICF Performance Evaluation and receive your ICF credential. We can assess your recording at ACC or PCC level and provide our opinion; but unfortunately, there’s no guarantees.
- On completion of the mentor coaching program, Open Door will provide you with a letter confirming your sessions and hours completed ready for your ICF renewal or credential application.
- All mentor coaching sessions are payable in advance.
- If you do not use your mentor coaching sessions, the amount you have paid will be held in credit for 12 months from the date of payment.
- Your mentor coaching sessions are not transferrable for any other services, unless agreed with Open Door.
- The mentor coaching program is confidential unless you disclose something that we feel we have a duty of care to act upon; and if this is the case we will discuss this with you first.
- You acknowledge that by entering into the mentor coaching relationship you will be receiving feedback on your coaching, and that sometimes that feedback might be hard to hear, or you may disagree with the feedback. With this in mind, you enter the mentor coaching program with the spirit of openness and willingness to develop your coaching skills. Open Door will treat you with fairness, compassion and kindness and in a manner honours your coaching development.
