At Open Door, we receive many questions about the ICF Credential Exam. This exam is a key requirement for obtaining an ICF credential at ACC, PCC, or MCC levels. All candidates must pass the exam to qualify. It assesses a coach’s understanding of the ICF definition of coaching, Core Competencies, and Code of Ethics.
In 2023, 9,795 coaches took the ICF Credentialing Exam. Of those, 75% passed on their first attempt, while 12% passed on a second try. The overall pass rate was 87%.
